Students prepare a multimedia presentationor short digital movie and use a remote mouse to manage the presentation in front of the class.
Students create music in an online venue ( http://www.mybytes.com/ ) and experience "file sharing" and the implications to the artist in a controlled atsmophere.

Using the backdrop of a high school's Battle of the Bands, the unit will help students define intellectual property by relating it to a common scenario they might encounter. Students will begin to recognize and internalize the importance of respecting intellectual property rights and will conduct their own research to help clear up misconceptions about the rights that apply to them and their peers.
Students create original digital art using a drawing tablet such as Wacom's Bamboo Fun. Artwork is saved to their digital portolio on the server.
8th Grade Art students will use digital cameras to take photos of a partner’s face. They will learn to download and save pictures in a standard size and format to a folder on the school server. Each student will learn basic manipulation (flip, mirror image, nudge, copy) of the template shape in an appropriate program. The finished art project is a kaleidoscope of 8 images, nose to nose. Save to the server and print.
Students create a presentation or web page called "A day in the life..." of the person job shadowed for World of Work. Include photos of the job site and an audio quote.
Students take a digital photograph of a scene during school break that emphasizes one of the Elements of Art. The picture is emailed to the teacher (either by cell phone or download to computer and email) with the name of the element in the subject line.
Students investigate a career using a variety of web and print tools. Include information provided by the industry, the placement services (high school counselor or college placemnt), and the government (Occupational Outlook).
