Montana Indian Education Association Honors Anna Decrane

Anna Decrane received the "2009 School Support Staff of the Year" award from the Montana Indian Education Association (MIEA) at their annual state-wide conference held in April. Anna was recognized for her contributions to Indian education at the school level. Her work at Senior High School with American Indian students, as well as her work in the Title VII Indian Education program, were acknowledged during the presentation. In recognizing Anna for the award, former state Rep. Norma Bixby of Lame Deer stated, "She is one of those rare people who goes above and beyond her duties. She does so with the needs of her students first and foremost. Her presence at Senior High School allows Indian students there an opportunity to have an advocate in such a large and sometimes intimidating environment." Congratulations to Anna Decrane of Senior High for this well-deserved award.
