Modeled Writing
During modeled writing the teacher
demonstrates
how to write by thinking aloud as he/she composes a text in front of the
children. This allows students to hear the thinking that is going on during
the process of writing. The teacher models such writing behavior as how
to select a topic, how to start a writing piece, how to choose a better
word and how to edit. Conventions of print and correct spelling are also
modeled during this time.
