    Celeste Peel's class discussed and examined three dimensional objects that were shaped like cones, spheres, cubes and cylinder's.  The kids drew pictures that represented those shapes and used interactive writing to  label them.
     Laura Sorum worked on the words "I" and "see" during this shared reading. It could later be used to teach the word, "the."
    The activity to the left can be done as an interactive writing project or shared writing. Children take turns pulling a shape out of a bag and naming it.  After the colors have been written, the piece can be used for shared reading and for reading around the room at center time.
