Interactive writing and magazine pictures were used in this activity from Dani Whittmeyer's class to teach children the different categories of food.  The sentences were cut up and put back together to promote word awareness and the word "like" was taught through the repetition.

   Children in Dani Whittmeyer's class put together a cut up sentences, drew pictures of their favorite fruits and then used phonetic spelling to label their pictures.

     The word "look" was taught while labeling these foods.
