     Brooke Waldron's class jointly created a chart of words they might need if they were writing a story about space.   The chart was put at the writing center and the children independently wrote stories.

 

    Doretta Lambert used interactive writing to practice writing number words for this rocket countdown activity.
     This is an interactive writing project from Angie Paris' classroom.

    This is a poem to use for shared reading to practice counting down.

    Click on the picture to the left for a printable copy of the space countdown poem.

The top can be cut off and inserted in the slot on the rocket (See the red dotted lines) Children can trace the numbers to practice writing numerals  and then practice saying the poem and counting down.
