Saturday Live Logo Contest

Each year the Education Foundation invites students in the Billings Public Schools to participate in the Saturday Live logo design contest. The winning logo is used to help publicize Saturday Live, a day-long family carnival held each fall in Pioneer Park. Typically, over 15,000 people attend Saturday Live. The logo is used on t-shirts, television and newspaper ads, billboards, and 20,000 flyers and maps. This year Saturday Live is September 29, 2012.

Please share this notice with your students. The competition is open to all BPS students. The deadline for entries is April 12, 2012 (by 5 pm).

Logo Design Requirements: The winning logo must be fine lined so that we may use it in a variety of advertising settings…from note cards to large billboards. Please advise students to make their designs clean and simple. A landscape (wide, not tall) generally works better than portrait orientation. Please use original art work. Copies of past designs are on the back of this page.

This year is the 20th anniversary of Saturday Live. We have two additional requirements for the 20th anniversary celebration:

1. Please incorporate "20th Anniversary" into your design! We are looking forward to a wonderful celebration of this event.

2. Please incorporate the original Saturday Live theme into your design - "It takes an entire village to educate a child."

Contest Rules:

To be considered for selection, entries must:

1. be camera-ready: black ink on 8 ½ x 11 white paper

2. include artist's name, grade and school on back of entry (please no ID on front)

3. include artist's signature (black ink) written three times on plain white paper

4. include Saturday Live and the year - 2012 in drawing.

5. include 20th Anniversary in the drawing.

6. submitted to the Education Foundation by Thursday, April 12th.

The winning artist will receive name recognition in Saturday Live 2012 publications and a pizza party for 15, courtesy of the Foundation!
