Acoustic Guitar For Beginners

This course will introduce the chords and progression of chords, especially used in folk music. Basic strumming, bass strumming, alternate bass strum, down and up picking, hammer on and pull offs and slides will be taught. Supplies: Purchase book w/cd, "Acoustic Guitar Primer for Beginners," by Bert Casey. Cost is $14.95 at Hansen's Music.

Beginning Digital Photography

Prerequisite: Good working knowledge of computers. Do you want to get more from your digital camera? Instructor Tom Burtchaell is an award winning professional photographer with over 25 years experience and a passion for sharing his craft with others. This course will discuss the basic techniques of photography and explore the remarkable options available through the latest digital technologies. Camera operation, file management, printing and other sharing options, editing and enhancing photographs are all discussed in detail--something for everyone who wants to take better photographs and make photography more fun and less work. Intermediate Photography--Digital Or Film

Each of five sessions will be devoted to ONE of the following topics: Close Up Photography, Landscape Photography, Sports Photography, Wildlife, and Portraiture Lighting. Basic Forensics

Join Billings Police Officer Kathy Carson who has a master's degree in forensic science AND in criminal justice in this class that will provide you with a basic understanding of street patrol forensics, crime scene processing, criminal investigations including sexual assault, death, driving under the influence (DUI) and automobile accidents. Class is designed for ADULT audience ONLY due to the graphic nature of the topics. No one under age 18.

Selection, Use and Care of Handguns

Note: Students must attend first class. What are your rights? Learn how to select, use and care for handguns. You will also receive training in how to avoid criminal attack and participants will use the firing range. DO NOT BRING FIREARMS TO CLASS. Range nights will be Wednesday and Thursday, Sept 23 and 24, and Sat, September 26 (weather permitting.) Students MUST attend first night of class in order to attend remainder of the course.
