College Prep Skills
Free classes for students who plan to attend college.
Participants must complete the registration process.Upon succesful completion of the coursework, students can take COMPASS, a college placement exam. The center evaluates students to develop an instructional program to meet their needs in each area. All classes are self-paced with an individualized learning plan designed to build on basic skills. Computer-assisted instruction is available. Classes include:
- Math for College Preparation. Build basic math and algebra skills.
- English for College Preparation. Build basic reading, writing, grammar and spelling skills.
- Science for College Preparation. Build skills in pre-biology, pre-chemistry and pre-anatomy. This class also works on study skills and strategies for college-level science classes.
- Computer Literacy for College Success: Keyboarding, file management, email, Internet, word processing and PowerPoint.
